Travelodge, the famous budget hotel operator, is looking to build a huge flagship site right in the heart of London.
The budget chain, expects to create a total of 400 rooms and their Chief Executive Officer, Peter Gowers has called it a “milestone for the companies growth”.
The site is expected to be built on Middlesex Street, not far from the Gherkin.
Gowers said the UK still lags behind other markets when it comes to budget, yet good quality hotel offerings.
He said: “We expect to further extend our national network and also to add more rooms in London, where with average hotel prices currently at almost twice the level of the UK regions, customers are crying out for more good quality, low-cost places to stay.”
The hotel is expected to open in 2018.
