Sutton put Leeds United out of the FA Cup in shock result

Sutton United

Non league side Sutton provided yet another shock in the FA Cup as they beat Leeds UTD 1:0.

Jamie Collins scored the winner as the lowest-ranked team in the entire Cup smashed a Leeds side in the running for Premier League promotion.

Was Garry Monk thinking about promotion?

84 league places separate these clubs, yet Garry Monk made 10 changes to his team in a story of his concentration being elsewhere; namely the Championship where Leeds have a genuine chance of promotion.

Garry picked a team with lots of young players, some of whom had never played a non-league pitch.

They all struggled against a Sutton side who were confident and comfortable playing at home.

Wasn’t this the Sutton of Coventry FA Cup fame?

Yes, Sutton dumped Coventry out of the third round back in 1989. This latest upset will be added to the hall of fame down at the Borough Sports Ground.

So far Sutton have had a brilliant FA Cup, putting out Forest Green, Dartford, Cheltenham and AFC Wimbledon in the process.
