Nelson Square, Southwalk, horrific stabbing as man pushed child on swings

A man was stabbed at Nelson Square, Southwalk right in front of two families spending time at a playground.

The man, was stabbed at about 13:20pm on Sunday.

One witness to the attack said: “The man was pushing two children on the swings when a pair of youth men attacked him.”

The victim, managed to make his way to a local pub, The Cut where he was discovered and the alarm was raised.

Following the stabbing, the entire area was closed off for Police to conduct a forensic examination.

Police Statement

A spokesperson for the Police said: “A man, believed to be aged in his mid-20s, was found suffering from a stab injury. He was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.”

Police are asking for anyone who has information regarding the attack to call Southwalk Police on 101.
